Life in the UK Test

Deep sigh...whats the real purpose of this - to generate more revenue? Who wrote the stuff....what's the point of all of the statistics - how would knowledge of this make me more British. Perhaps I am looking at it too critically, but I feel that it could have been written clearer and in a far more consistent manner.

Ethnic diversity- pretty strange, aren't people who are born and raised in Britain 'British', how many generations will it take before these people are described as 'British with African Caribbean...roots' rather than as "members of the African Caribbean, Pakistani, Indian and Bangladeshi communities who were born in Britain"

Okay, so although there is a brain drain and fewer people are having kids ( I am both educated at the post grad level and have 3 kids here), my 'poor' British hubby and I are off to pay £750 for my indefinite leave to remain....and within the year I'll have to apply for citizenship and pay what another £665...must look that up. At least, the life in the UK test + book only costs £44.
